Restoration Work Done
Remove all of interior, decks, cabin roof, bulkheads, secure with temp cross beams to maintain shape, completely replace, sister or scarph new ribs both sides any that were suspect (approx 45-50). Using ash steam bent secured with copper nails n roves, scarphs glued with epoxy.
Replace approx 170 ft of planking mahogany ¾” as required both below and above water line again copper secured. (Nails n roves).
Replace all keel bolts except three which were sound with stainless steel bolts.
Remove and reseal/replace dead wood and stop waters , replace all through bolts with stainless steel bolts.
Design and build new rudder stock and shaft plus blade, with stainless steel incorporating grease nipples, blade marine ply glass sheathed.
Rebuild all internal bulkheads with ¾” mahogany faced marine ply, all interior fixtures built with marine ply to BS1088. All glue epoxy. Replace carlins and all deck beams all hand made and dovetailed into carlins and beamshelf. Fair and replace deck
Deck ½” marine ply to BS 1088 Sikaflexed onto beamshelf/carlins and beams screwed down with stainless fixings. Overlaid with ½” Douglas fir planks all hand cut and hand dressed, epoxied onto marine ply deck and fixed with S/S fixings and then aesthetically caulked to give appearance of laid deck. Hand finished with traditional finish linseed oil and turps.
Coach house roof also constructed in similar manner Coach house sides also laminate of 2x ½” marine ply panels epoxied together. New toughened glass windows with original seals.
Sky light also toughened glass on marine ply frame. Compression post S/S post custom built to fit. Tabernacle mild steel hot dip galvanised after construction.
Main mast alloy with S/S 8mm rigging new in 2006. all bottle screws tested and certified new in 2006. Boom original wood spruce mast epoxy painted to look wooden.
New Bowsprit Hand made cushions covered with gore tech as are all of the other covers and fabrics etc.
