This Oyster 37, Cracker, was moulded by Oyster Marine, in 1982
and completed to "sail away" state 1983/4 She was launched and
sailed (without interior) until 1988 when she was completed by Reg
(Roy?) Harris Marine, Wales. Designed as a fast Cruiser/Racer. The Oyster 37 was designed by Holman and Pye for racing
under the IOR One Ton Rule.
She offers up to eight berths in three cabins, has a good Galley and an
excellent Navigation table.
Mechanical propulsion is by Volvo Penta 2003 23hp diesel on a Saildrive; the
gasket has recently been renewed. Cracker is now in need of some considerable refurbishment,
including her headlinings replaced throughout, and needs a new owner to take this on.
Cracker comes with an extensive sail wardrobe, and has successfully raced in
club races locally and in other events like Cowes week, Ramsgate week
etc.. The windward ability of the Oyster 37 is well respected!
