Daisy George
| Owner's Comments
Daisy George has been part of our lives since 1981. Bought little used, we sailed from Lymington to France, through the French canals to the Med. We started chartering (up to 6 guests skipper in 3 cabins + cook sleeping on double in saloon) in the Balearics and then were based in Turkey/Greece. We used to charter in the summer and live aboard in the winter. During the years we also sailed down to the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba. She was always a comfortable roomy boat and a pleasure to sail. In light airs she is responsive, in heavy weather the flared bow keeps her relatively dry & the well in the bows is reassuringly secure for anybody stationed forward. In 1981 her hull was epoxied as a preventative measure (there was no sign of osmosis). After over 20 years and much use her original Thorneycroft (marinised Leyland) engine eventually had a tendency to overheat, it had been really great, but for peace of mind we replaced it with a new Leyland engine of the same capacity with a new gearbox. This new engine has been little used. She was used for chartering until a few years ago and has since not been used, but she is in sound shape.
