Specifications

Fánaí is a round
bilge steel version of the 36ft Alan Pape, long keel Ebbtide design. She
was built and fitted out by the owner, she was launched in August 2003. Her
ballast is lead ingots encapsulated in concrete. All windows and hatch
lights are "unbreakable" Lexan. She has a wide flush deck,
many handholds, substantial stanchions, lifelines and granny bars near the mast. There are no holes in the deck. All gear (mostly
stainless steel) has been attached to stainless steel backing plates which are themselves welded directly to the hull.
The hull, deck and insides of the craft were all
shot blasted professionally and immediately epoxy primed to prevent any oxidation of
the steel. After two coats of epoxy the interior was sprayed with expanded polyurethane foam.
