Twin 400 hp Kelvin TAS8 diesel engines  

2:1 reduction hydraulic reversing gearboxes
A section of each prop shaft can be removed enabling the gearbox to be removed without  dry docking.

drives Contra rotating 4-bladed bronze propellers 
Cutless bearings are easy to replace

Fuel consumption is in the region of 1,850 litres per day at 900rpm and approx 8.5 knots, this includes the generators. 

60hp Hydraulic, proportionally controlled Bow thruster

Fuel tanks are either side of the passage to the Chief Engineer's and First Mate's cabins
The fuel tanks are fully baffled but can be cleaned and repaired from the inside.

Everything is well labelled

Main entry to the engine room is from the entertainment deck with an additional entry from the Chief Engineer's / First mate's quarters.
