M/V Haganes is a Long Range Whaler converted into a comfortable Motor Yacht. She was built by Nyland Verksted, Oslo (Norway) in 1907   The hull is steel, originally of riveted construction but this has now been mostly replaced with welded sections.

Four main compartments with three watertight bulkheads.  The hull was sandblasted and repainted under surveyor supervision Feb 2008. At the same time all underwater seacocks were serviced or replaced and the engine on the 6KW Genset was replaced. 

Decks are painted, epoxy coated wood.

She has had major refits in 1928, 1938, 1940, 1952, 1965, 1995, 2005 and 2008

Four each 120 AH batteries on 24V system for some internal ship lights and navigation lights. Two 60 a/h batteries on communication system. Two other 12V engine starting batteries. This ship, however, is designed to run off of 240v mains, and has four 240V generators which consume approximately 30 litres per day of diesel.
