Harbinger is an ex-working fishing boat believed to have been built in the early 1900's. She is understood be one of only four Manx Nobbys remaining.  She is carvel built of pitch pine on sawn oak frames.

During her her previous ownership (for 25 years), she was extensively re-built. All defective planking and framing were replaced, she had a new horn timber and new breast hooks, a keelson was added with all new keelboats. She was completely refastened and caulked and payed, with red lead putty below the waterline, and white lead putty above. 

The decks are traditional 1¾" thick on new laminated deck beams and caulked and payed with Polysulphide.  The new coach roof was in 1½" thick Brazilian mahogany.  All joinery is arranged to provide for full flow of air around the inside of the hull for ventilation.

All of Harbinger's accommodation was renewed and she now provides comfortable accommodation for five with six feet headroom in the saloon.

The engine beds were replaced and the Volvo 2003 29hp diesel engine re-built by Volvo in 1996.

She could be ideal for extended cruises or as a live aboard.
