Sails and Deck Gear

Harbinger is an easy boat to work -  originally being handled by a man and a boy.

The side decks are wide, the toerails high and the guardrails and stanchions at a very safe height.

The Bowsprit stows inboard when in harbour.

Sails are of tan Terylene
The standing rigging is of plough steel and gets a fresh coat of Stockholm tar each year
The decks get a soaking of 50/50 linseed oil and wood preserver each year.
All brightwork and spars are varnished annually, and all blocks serviced.
The topsides are re-painted every three years

 

Harbinger sports a massive 45lb CQR anchor with two-speed windlass and a 30lb Danforth kedge.

Sails, spars and rigging are all in excellent order.
