Carvel Folkboat, Helios

Helios is a carvel Folkboat derivative (with extra freeboard) built by John Perry of Cosham in 1962. She has an addition plank giving her greater volume and headroom on a standard Folkboat. Construction is full length Afzelia planking (also known as African Mahogany) on Canadian Rock Elm frames. The topsides are splined. Floors are English Oak and were replaced in 1998 along with new decks, epoxy sheathed, and new Keelbolts. Coach roof and coamings are also Afzelia. 

She offers up to five berths in two cabins, has a compact galley and a heads in the forepeak. Mechanical propulsion is by Yanmar 1GM 10hp diesel engine (fitted 1998, refurbished 2012).

She comes complete with VHF Radio, Autopilot and depth sounder.
