There's normally a hard line between a sport boat and an overnighter. The 2400 SE, however, erases that line, and that's why it is appropriately called a sport cruiser.

The advantage of owning an overnighter with a 102-inch beam and an approximate weight just shy of 6,000 pounds is the mobility. Rigged with a Bravo III drive unit, which is standard with all power packages, the 2400 SE can be run through a slalom course with one hand. It will get onto plane faster than most boats in this category, so loading up the water-sports gear makes sense. But there's another application for the aforementioned mobility.

.....

Maxum even created the cockpit for lively boaters with the Active Seating design that was introduced a year ago. The backrest on the rear seat adjusts to three positions--rear-facing over the swim platform, all the way down to form a sun pad or forward-facing. Behind the driver is a refreshment center with sink, pullout faucet and a slide-out countertop. It works well with the double-wide helm seat that pivots so the captain can face the action in the aft cockpit.

The 2400 SE continues to shine when it's time to really unwind because of the forward berth and salon. Two adults can sleep in the cushioned V-berth, and two more can settle into the mid-berth, proving the boat worthy of its sport cruiser designation.
