Lightwave is a Scanmar 40 Built by Yachts of Scandinavia to a design by Rolf Magnusson in 1987. She has a medium shallow fin keel and offers up to six berths in three cabins. She is equipped for short handed, long distance cruising with her in-mast mainsail reefing and roller headsail and her Windpilot Pacific, windvane self steering gear.  

Mechanical propulsion is by Volvo Penta 2003T 43hp turbo diesel with a conventional shaft drive to a three-bladed propeller with rope cutter.

Approximate Dimensions

She comes particularly well equipped with diesel warm air heater, HF SSB radio telephone, radar, Chartplotter, autopilot Navtex etc.

In her current ownership she has been down to the Mediterranean via Biscay, back via the canals and up to Scandinavia via Germany, Holland and Belgium.
