Zierksee, Holland Owner's CommentsAfter considerable searching for an aft cockpit/masthead rig cruising yacht, in November 1998 LIGHTWAVE was chosen by my wife and I for extended cruising . A good looking boat, she is built to the best Swedish standards and has proved a safe, comfortable sea boat that offers sea kindliness and protection when offshore. Her moderate draft allows many otherwise inaccessible anchorages to be explored as well as the opportunity to use European canals without overly compromising her sailing performance. Her HOOD furling mainsail system has proved totally reliable. With first class accommodation, good sea berths, a safe, deep cockpit and easily handled rig she has proved easy for the on watch crew, usually alone, to manage. The engine gives adequate power and the boat is easily manoeuvred. She lies well to an anchor and has “man sized” deck gear.
At Ajjacio, Corsica In spring 1999 we sailed her to the Mediterranean via France, Spain and Portugal, laying up in Gibraltar.
Isle de Yeu France In 2001 we sailed to Corsica, Sardinia and Elba and then returned, via the French canals, to Le Havre and our home port of Brightlingsea.
Toulon France In 2003 we sailed to the Baltic via the Keil canal, visiting Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and the Aaland Islands. We returned to Brightlingsea in the autumn after nearly 2500 miles of safe and varied cruising.
Lekeito Spain
St.Tropez Our long distance cruising plans being now complete we have, with heavy hearts, decided to offer our lovely boat for sale. Broker's CommentsI have known Lightwave's owners since the 1970s and have cruised in company with them on numerous occasions. They are great people and I know that, as well as having enjoyed Lightwave as their summer home each year, they have looked after her superbly. Here is a long legged, Swedish, quality boat offering real comfort that, in the right ownership, will take you wherever you want to go. |
