Owner's Comments
I had been looking for a serious motor sailor, but did not like the designs of Nauticat, or Fisher. I had been dreaming of a boat that has enough open space and decks that can be used for sunbathing or entertainment, but at the same time fulfils all the demands of a motor sailor: - Sailing from the inside in a bad weather; voluminous interior. That all has been incorporated in the Ferretti Altura. Then when I realized that she has twin engines but that she can be normally motored with only one, I rather quickly made the decision to buy her. In 2005 when I bought her I replaced all navigational electronics, rewired her, installed a new autopilot and had her epoxied professionally in the shipyard in Zadar. The hydraulic steering was also replaced. In 2008 I installed heating.
She has been used only by my wife and me as a replacement for a summer house. She is absolutely fantastic liveaboard and sails well. I would never have wanted to sell her but my wife thinks it is time we move on to a motor boat. |
