Engine

25hp Volvo MD2B (1982) newly stripped and rebuilt 2003 by Glasgow Volvo Agent (new conrod and shaft regrind, new piston rings, bearing shells, etc); consumes 2lt/hr Diesel.

The Dynastart starter charges dedicated engine battery, additional alternator charges three heavy duty domestic batteries all housed in battery boxes below saloon floor panels. Provision for seasonal and mid-season running of fresh water through engine and water-cooled exhaust system. Two stainless steel 50lt Diesel tanks (linked) see layout drawings and photos.

An automatic fire extinguisher is mounted within the engine compartment plus one of the two stainless steel 50lt Diesel tanks; the second of these is mounted below the cockpit port locker, from where it can gravity-feed the engine.
