Muldonich is a British Registered gaff yawl built in 1930 by John MacDonald, Portbeg, Oban, designed by G.L.Watson (original plans, with Watsons, included copies of Albert Strange's "Venture"). She is very similar.

Carvel planked in mahogany, bent frames in Elm, grown frames in Oak, Oak hog, pitch pine deck with coach roof, hatches and trim all in teak. Many of the brass and bronze fittings are original.

Approximate Dimensions

She is a much admired boat and offers three berths , galley, heads etc in an open plan layout.

The accommodation is mainly in one large spacious saloon with a long, narrow forepeak.

The cockpit is deep and quite small, newly floored in Iroko.

Joinery is very original, in teak, with pleasant joiner details.

Her Albin twin cylinder petrol engine with single lever Morse control in the cockpit pushes her along at around 4 to 5  knots and uses around 1/2 gallon per hour. It is quiet and drives the boat easily.

The keel bolts were replaced when she was purchased by the current owner.
