
Paola is a Calais Pilot Yawl, built by Delpierre et Fils of Calais in
1925 to the design of M Deseille. Construction is carvel, Pitch Pine, on
to Oak frames with a traditional, long, iron keel.
She has been
substantially rebuilt. The superstructure is Brazilian Mahogany and the decks are
Teak laid. Her stainless steel rigging was all replaced in 2004 and
her sails were all replaced in 2006. The keel bolts were replaced
2004/5.
She offers up to four berths. Mechanical propulsion is by
Ford Mermaid Meteor 50hp diesel engine.
