Peridot is a beautiful example of a SOUTH COAST ONE DESIGN (SCOD). SCODs are offshore cruisers/racers designed by Camper and Nicholson and built in the 50s and 60s. They are constructed from Mahogany on oak frames, 26 ft long with a long iron keel. They are very tight and stable yachts with an excellent sailing performance.
Peridot is one of the few SCODs to be built by the Camper and Nicholson yard with a high spec including stainless steel stanchions, pushpit and pulpit. She was built in 1961 and is SCOD no 68. In total over 100 SCODs were built in the 50s and 60s. There is an active SCOD owners club and class racing at Cowes.
4 berths in 2 cabins, good headroom and a separate WC with a Baby Blakes sea toilet. There is a small galley and chart table in the main cabin.

All original and in excellent condition Brookes and Gatehouse log/speedo and D/F; Walker log, Seavoice VHF, Compass. New Autohelm 2000 autopilot. Lifebuoy and lights, hand and electric bilge pumps.

Peridot is in excellent condition. One of the best SCODs around. Extensive works were carried out in 1997/1998 by Coombs boatyard in Bosham, specialists in wooden boats. Including, new hood end fastenings, floors, keel bolts, decking etc. All bills available. Full surveys (also available) were carried out in 1997 and 1998 before and after repairs. She has had 2 owners from new, was sailed and raced extensively in the Solent and English Channel. In recent years she has been sailed in the West Country.
Peridot is now lying in Salcombe harbour, South Devon.
