PSYCHE was designed by Ed Burnett
in 1999 to an exacting specification from the
previous owners
who had sailed modern and classic boats for the past 40 years. Their concept was inspired by Albert Strange who, in the early 1900s, designed very seaworthy, comfortable, fast and beautiful gentlemen’s yachts. This modern classic gaff yawl
hull was built by Spirit Yachts of Canadian yellow
Cedar strip planking, epoxy coated, on Mahogany ring frames. The interior works
were completed by the original owner and his time served shipwright friend, and she was launched in June 2000.
Psyche offers 6 berths in two cabins, has two heads, a navigation table and
galley. She has been built and maintained superbly. Mechanical propulsion is by 30hp Lister
diesel (2004).
