Raja Laut is a modern Gaff rigged
Schooner, built for private charters and luxury expeditions, by Bugis craftsmen in Indonesian
Borneo under the instruction of master boat builder Haji Wahab. Work started in 2004
and she was commissioned in 2006. Construction is carvel planking on frames,
through bolted to internal stringers. She is made of an exceptionally hard
ironwood, Belian, sourced from Kalimantan,
Indonesia. Belian is second to none for durability. Mechanical
propulsion is by Yanmar 6HADTE six-cylinder turbo diesel 300hp and she has two
gensets. Range under power at ~ 8knots estimated at ~2500 nm.
She offers accommodation for 12 Guest in air-conditioned, en-suite cabins
plus six crew.
