"River Rat"   Bradwell 18  Lying  Essex

Sails and Deck Gear

Builder's Comments

The Bradwell 18 is designed for Estuary and short coastal cruises with accommodation for 4 people with space for marine toilet and galley. The boat is a centre boarder, the centre plate being housed inside a ballast keel enabling the boat to be sailed in shallow water and to be beached. Using a Masthead Bermudan rig the boat is comfortable to sail single-handed with all necessary sailing equipment within the reach of the helmsman.

Broker's Comments

River Rat is a little sweetie. After may years of enjoyment her owner has reluctantly decided to part with her through ill-health.  She now need a new owner to lavish her with attention - she will repay this willingly and take him (her) to places that deeper draught vessels cannot reach.

A small craft like this can be taken out for a quick potter with minimum fuss and preparation. It is often said the smaller the boat the more often she is likely to be used.

Keeping her on a drying mooring minimises the expense of owning a craft like this and her mooring at Brightlingsea is for sale, if required.
