Super Sovereign 35 Ketch, Sensibility

Designed by Kim Holman and built by Uphams. Holman's philosophy was straightforward, he did not believe in extremes - grace and a rising for and aft sheer were his hallmarks. Holman always said "Never compromise or economise on the hull and deck".

When the Super Sovereign was planned they had in mind the discerning yachtsman who would appreciate the finer points and excitement of sailing with all the advantages of the ketch rig. Besides the practical advantages, it gives the boat great aesthetic appeal.

The boat is not only a good looker but extremely comfortable. She is a stiff boat very easy to handle with a good working deck space. The smooth performance continues then the auxiliary engine (Thomeycroft, B.M.C. 36 HP) takes over.

With plenty of room and comfort the saloon comprises a single berth and galley to port. To starboard a full sit-in navigation and chart table plus a full length dinette arrangement. Forward is a double berth and holding tank with a separate toilet and hanging locker. There are plenty of sturdy hand holds, solid finger hole catches and locker space in all the right places.

Walcheren Canal Holland

The cockpit is well laid out and spacious approximately 7ft. 9ins. long and lends itself easily to single handing.

Sensibility, off Holland
