Sula is a Kattegat 26. Launched in 1997. Full Part One Registered vessel. Designed by John Leather along Colin Archer lines the Kattegat 26 is a rugged cruiser with a famous pedigree. Boat builder Jim Spencer of Brightlingsea, Essex asked John to design a hull which embodied all the sea-keeping characteristics of the Colin Archer type in a 26’ hull.

There are four berths with two cabins and toilet in the forecastle. There is a good galley and full sized chart table, plenty of stowage and a heating stove to keep everything cosy late in the season. Headroom under the deckhouse is approximately 5ft 10ins (1.78m).
The Hull was hand-moulded in GRP to a high specification using isophthalic resins and Epoxy treated from new with Blakes SF Epoxy.
Decks are epoxy sheathed Bruynzeel plywood and the interior is extensively fitted out in wood. This is the short coachroof version which, combined with the 9ft beam gives a wonderfully clear deck space. The cockpit is deep and self-draining. The gaff cutter rig looks right on this hull and not only provides the power necessary for this displacement hull, but offers exciting racing in "gaffer" events.
Power is provided by a Yanmar 2GM 18hp diesel engine through an Aquadrive coupling. Down below, the full bodied hull gives an amazing amount of space for a vessel of just over 26ft on deck.
