Owner's Comments

The Vindo 40 is a very strongly built, offshore cruising yacht with a reputation for sea kindliness and fast passages. Very responsive to sail, with the ability to steer herself on the wind with the wheel locked. She has lots of stowage lockers and drawers below and the interior is all made of well constructed teak and mahogany. 

In recent years "Svenskdam" has cruised around Britain and to Northern Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Holland.
The worn teak deck was removed in 2003 and the GRP deck beneath was painted to give a solid and durable deck, without the concerns of water penetration beneath the teak. (see photos). Only used for very local cruising for 2 seasons, she is being sold to allow the owner to buy a vessel more suitable for occasional, local inshore and coastal cruising

In Ferenc Mate's book the WORLD'S BEST SAILBOATS 

He says of Vindo Yachts of Sweden: Vindo Yachts "have combined the strength and longevity of fibreglass hulls and cockpits...with the beauty of magnificently crafted mahogany house and teak housetops and decks to create some of the prettiest yachts in the world today."

Broker's Comments

"Svenskdam" is one of such boats, built in Sweden in 1979 - comfortable for cruising and warm and cosy down below with beautiful African Mahogany everywhere, and a performance boat with her cutaway forefoot, long keel, as well. 

The high quality of the fit out is apparent everywhere. Here is a very comfortable, attractive, long-legged craft at an attractive price.
