The Sabb  2GH 18hp twin cylinder diesel pushes her along at up to six knots, has been regularly serviced and has proven very reliable. 

New flexible engine mounts were fitted 2001, prop thrust rings replaced 2001, new exhaust hose 2001. New water pump diaphragm fitted 2003 (inspected 2004).

Fuel consumption is between 1/4 and 1/3rd gallon per hour at around five knots. The 18 gallon tank giving a range of over 250 miles. 

Spare alternator belt, water pump diaphragm, various gaskets and alternator controller are included.

The engine start panel is just inside the cabin and easily reachable from the cockpit.

Access to essentials, oil filer, water pump etc is good.

With a little ingenuity, and a block and tackle, the engine can be lifted and slid forward into the main cabin for overhaul and 5-yearly paint refresh on the both engine and the bilges below.
