Winter Nellie is a “Clayre” class design commissioned from Robert Tucker in 1969. Based on his “Ayriel” class cutters for the Ayr yacht club on the Clyde, using the same hull form but replacing the reverse counter with the older style one, developing the bow into a “clipper” form with bowsprit, and is now rigged as a cutter.

She is cold moulded 4 layers of 1/8" Khaya veneers diagonally on one inch square Hemlock stringers. A VERY strong form of construction.  She has a Lead keel with 3/4" stainless steel keel bolts - last inspected 2002.  The deck is Teak laid on marine ply.

She offers 4 berths and has a Yanmar YSE8 single cylinder diesel estimated to have only done 200 hours since new. Even so it has been serviced annually.
