Broker's Comments

I have known Zenith, and one of her previous owners, Harry, since the early 1970s and have sailed in company with them on many occasions.

He introduced me to the Classic Yacht regattas at Shotley which we did for many years to the extent that I virtually became an honorary member of the Deben  4-tonner association - even with my 32 ft Arthur Robb 'Tudor Rose'!  Zenith is second from the right at Shotley (above).

I saw her absolutely transformed when he asked the late Jim Spencer of Brightlingsea to bring her up to scratch around seven years ago. The decks were stripped, the coachroof completely removed the cockpit stripped out, all of the internal furniture removed and the transom removed. All were replaced and at her launching, Zenith started to be known as New Zenith!

New Zenith at Bradwell in company with the Folkboat, Scandal - owned and built by Cyril White. The Folkboat was much faster on the wind on the way over to Bradwell but with a free wind on the way back, Zenith was catching up fast!

Over the 30 plus years that Harry owned her, he would disappear for a month or so  most summers, usually sailing her single handed.
